Draconic History

Beasts Amidst Mankind

For centuries human society has been fascinated by the concept of dragons, seeking them in almost every corner of the Earth itself. For as long as mankind has been able to record history dragons have always had a place in the hearts of people, with the oldest legends describing them dating all the way back to 1300 BCE. Dragons are everywhere; literally. Draconic mythology can be found in almost every religion, society, and region across the planet that has ever existed, with legends being told of relentless serpents who may control the elements and more. These beasts have always been with us, and still are. Many cultures have lost the awe and reverence of dragons, often regarding them as no more than fictional creatures, but still humanity remains mystified by their existence and power, with many still celebrating them today. Complex, unique, and mysterious, there are a small handful of individuals who still study, worship, and follow in their footsteps still, and if you are reading this it is likely that you are one of them.

Modern Day

These people will be referred to throughout this guide as Draconic Practitioners, though there is no one certain title for such. A Draconic Practitioner is an individual who works with dragons throughout their spiritual practice, and in some way or another incorporates them into their path. Whether you classify yourself as a witch, as pagan, wiccan, spiritual, or anything else, this is a title for those who believe in the metaphysical and magick, and anybody who makes dragons a part of that as well. The Draconic Path will be further discussed in the section Working with Dragons. As of the 2020s there has been a great increase in draconic practitioners as curiosity seems to be at its highest, but the Draconic Path is one otherwise often considered incredibly niche, and very limited of resources. This guide serves to provide a solution to that. In modern days the community surrounding dragons is more abundant than ever as people continue to explore and discover the ins-and-outs of the nature of these beings, and though the path is not entirely clear, many are trying to pave it still and build a greater foundation to work off of for the Practitioners to come.
