The Wyrmbound Codex

    Earth Dragons

    Guardians of Nature

From colossal mountain dragons to low lying cavernous beasts, Earth dragons come in a myriad of different forms, often known for their deep and rich nature, perpetuated by their specialization in grounding, protection, and stability. Earth dragons can be found virtually anywhere in nature, often reflecting the environment around them depending on the type of biome they reside in. They rule over small plants, deep caves, flower fields and forests, yet ravines and mountain summits, but most importantly you can find them just about anywhere you can go. Many are sturdy by nature, and can often make for sweet but strong companions.

    Associations

Typically Earth dragons can be recognized by their brown, green and sometimes golden color tones, but no dragon is required to look any certain way to be any certain kind. They specialize in matters of grounding, foundation, the home, personal growth, wealth and success, and often are best sought out for such. Frequently they are associated with wealth and money magick, due to the nature of currency originating from valuable metals. They encourage deeper connection with animals and nature, and even deeper connections to the self.

    Signs

Largely based on personal interpretation, signs of Earth dragons may vary, however some signs may include things such as feeling drawn to nature, finding interest in herbology or geology, finding special plants or stones in odd places, nature often coming to mind, or simply finding a new strong appreciation for such.

    Common Offerings

Coins, crystals, plants ( especially homegrown ones ), teas, dirt or different sands, food ( especially meat ), hard work, wood, flowers, dedication to the home, grounding in their honor, and much more.

    Specific Subcategories

Mountain dragons, cave dragons, sand dragons, plant dragons, forest dragons, jungle dragons, and crystal dragons, which are a particularly unique subcategory of Earth Dragons that will be touched upon further.

    Crystal Dragons

Often regarded as their own elementals in some ways, crystal dragons are frequently associated with Earth dragons, and stand out due to their rarity and understudied nature. Crystal dragons are typically found within the crystals we work with ourselves, however that does not mean every crystal has a dragon within it, nor does that mean every crystal dragon is attached to a physical crystal. However most commonly they tend to be associated with at least some kind of crystal, or perhaps more than one, and in turn they frequently reflect the attributes of the stone which represents them.

When in contact with a crystal dragon, if unsure of what crystal they are associated with, it is encouraged to simply ask. Many enjoy offerings of the crystal that they are, and keeping one with you is a great way of familiarizing yourself with and connecting to their energies. Often they are associated with Dragonfae. One should always keep an open mind to these beings and never assume them to be any certain way, by nature, element, form, abilities, and just about everything else, due to how exceptionally diverse every one of them can be.
